SAIN TATHAN AC ACADEMI HEDDWCH CYMRU

‘Sant Tathan ac Academi Heddwch Cymru’ to be published this week in Y Pedair Tudalen (the three weekly religious magazines: Y Goleuad, Seren Cymru, and Y Tyst). In this note I ask the readers to oppose the two planning applications re. St Tathan, and to attend the Cynefin y Werin meeting in Aberystwyth, 4 July.

SAIN TATHAN AC ACADEMI HEDDWCH CYMRU Robin Gwyndaf

Na i wario 12 biliwn o bunnoedd ar ddatblygu Academi Filwrol Sain Tathan. Na i ganiatau i’r Fyddin hysbysebu ar S4C a sianelau eraill y teledu. Na i Trident. A na i Gymru gael ei thraflyncu gan y traddodiad Prydeinig ymerodraethol a militaraidd. Na i ddiwylliant rhyfel.

Ond ie i greu diwylliant heddwch ac Academi Heddwch i Cymru. Nid Sefydliad (Institute) gyda’r prif bwyslais ar ymchwil yn unig, ond Academi i gynghori’r Cynulliad a’r Llywodraeth Brydeinig ac i ddylanwadu ar bolisi. Yn bwysicach na dim, Academi i sicrhau bod astudiaethau heddwch, cyfiawnder a hawliau dynol yn cael eu cyflwyno yn ysgolion a cholegau Cymru.

Dyna oedd byrdwn yr erthygl y bu’r Parchg John Pritchard, y Golygydd, mor garedig â’i chyhoeddi yn rhifyn 24 Ebrill o’r Pedair Tudalen. Mawr ddiolch iddo.

A mawr ddiolch hefyd i’r rhai ohonoch chwithau a fu mor barod ag ymateb i’r erthygl honno. Ac yn awr mi garwn i estyn gwahoddiad caredig i bawb o’r darllenwyr ddod i’r adwy i fod â rhan bersonol a gweithredol mewn dau weithgarwch sydd, yn fy marn i. o’r pwys mwyaf, sef: gwrthwynebu’r datblygiad yn Sain Tathan a chefnogi’r bwriad i sefydlu Academi Heddwch i Gymru.

A dyma’r gwahoddiad cyntaf. Ar hyn o bryd y mae dau gais am ganiatâd cynllunio gerbron Cyngor Bro Morgannwg.

1. Cais (rhif 2009/00500/FUL) gan Yr Ysgrifennydd Gwladol dros Amddiffyn, Cwmni Metrix UK Cyf. a Chwmni Sodexo Cyf. i ddatblygu Academi yn Sain Tathan (neu Goleg Technegol Amddiffyn, fel y’i gelwir bellach).

2. Cais (rhif 2009/00501/FUL) gan ‘Y Gweinidogion Cymreig’ i ddatblygu yn Sain Tathan Barc Busnes Awyrfodol (Aerospace).

Dyma, felly’r gwahoddiad cyntaf, yn wir, apêl: a wnewch chi fel unigolion nodi eich gwyrthwynebiad cryfaf posibl i’r ddau gais uchod, a threfnu hefyd i’ch eglwysi wneud yr un modd, gan nodi rhifau’r ceisiadau. A gwneud hynny, os yn bosibl, o fewn dyddiau wedi darllen y nodyn hwn, Y mae brys mawr. Bydd yfory yn rhy hwyr. A dyfynnu geiriau Abiah Roderick:

Dyw’r felin ddim yn malu
Â’r dŵr sydd wedi mynd.

Y cyfeiriad i anfon eich gwrthwynebiad yw: D R Thomas, Pennaeth Cynllunio a Thrafnidiaeth, Cyngor Bro Morgannwg, Swyddfa’r Doc, Dociau’r Barri, Y Barri, Bro Morgannwg, CF63 43T.

Yr ail wahoddiad yw hwn: brynhawn Sadwrn, 4 Gorffennaf 2009, am 2.00pm, yn Y Morlan, Aberystwyth, cynhelir cyfarfod o Gynefin y Werin. A’r amcan? Ystyried y bwriad i sefydlu Adademi Heddwch i Gymru. Unwaith eto, dyma gais caredig i bawb sy’n dymuno heddwch i Gymru ac i’r byd: byddai’n hyfryd pe gallech fod yn bresennol yn y cyfarfod pwysig hwn.

Pob bendith a myrdd o ddiolch.

Corporations benefit off WARFARE

Those who support the pivatisation of war and handing British military training to Ratheon and Sodexho should read this article. We should ask our politicans should we have a system where corporations are allowed to benefit off of warfare?

Bill Moyers: The Rise of Private Armies -- Mercenaries, Murder and Corruption in Iraq and Afghanistan

By Bill Moyers, Bill Moyers Journal. Posted June 9, 2009.

Journalist Jeremy Scahill warns against the growing power of corporate private armies and the "disintegration of the nation state apparatus.

"most Americans are not aware that their dollars being spent in Afghanistan are, in fact, going to for-profit corporations in both Iraq and Afghanistan. These are companies that are simultaneously working for profit and for the U.S. government. That is the intricate linking of corporate profits to an escalation of war that President Eisenhower warned against in his farewell address. "
